NEW HAVEN, CT -- The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (TCF), the region’s charitable endowment and largest grantmaker, has created a new competitive grant process to benefit nonprofit animal shelters in Greater New Haven. Nonprofit shelters are eligible to apply year-round for up to $7,500 in funding from The Lillian and Henry A. Konopacke Fund.
WASHINGTON, DC — More than 250 philanthropy leaders from across the nation, including five representing Connecticut philanthropy, are gathering on Capitol Hill starting today to urge lawmakers to value and strengthen charitable giving in America. MERIDEN, CT -- At an October 4 event at the Meriden Green featuring Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren and other Federal Reserve Bank of Boston partners, the Working Cities Challenge celebrated 16 Connecticut communities that are eligible to pursue collaborative and ambitious economic development strategies to improve the lives of low-income people in small- and mid-size cities in Connecticut.
Connecticut is the latest state participating in the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Working Cities Challenge competition, an economic development effort that builds cross-sector collaboration and leadership to solve challenges affecting urban communities.
