DULUTH, GA -- More than 200 students from 42 veterinary schools in the U.S. and six other countries will forego vacation this summer and spend time in labs and classrooms. They will conduct hands-on research, network with academic and industry leaders and develop presentations of their research that they will share at a symposium in Boston in late July.

BRISTOL, CT -- Friday evening, June 14th, more than 100 people attended “Family, Fun & Fathers”, a night of bowling, mini-golf and food at Lessard Lanes in Plainville. NEW BRITAIN - The American Savings Foundation has selected 14 city-based youth programs to receive more than $562,000 in grants. Recipients were chosen based on their contributions to providing positive youth development experiences in and out of school. More than 8,000 students will benefit from the programs during the coming school year, according to a release.

FARMINGTON, CT -- One of the many questions surrounding the pending merger between UTC and Massachusetts-headquartered Raytheon, announced almost simultaneously with this year’s Special Olympics, is what happens next year?  Will the merged company, Raytheon Technologies, continue to support nonprofit organizations in Connecticut to the extent that UTC has, in many instances, for decades.  That remains a question not only at Special Olympics, but at nonprofit organizations large and small throughout the state.
