DANBURY, CT -- A local program has helped children in struggling families participate in activities outside of school. More than 1,000 out-of-school activities for children have been paid for since 2017 through a United Way of Western Connecticut program, the non-profit has announced.

WATERBURY, CT -- Regular contributors to the Greater Waterbury Campership Fund once again have provided a nice boost to the cause as March arrives. The Sue Strisik Grossman Fund at the Connecticut Community Foundation made its annual donation in February, this time for $2,499.84, continuing a legacy of thousands of dollars donated to the Campership Fund the past several years.
HARTFORD, CT -- The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, which serves 29 communities in the Hartford area, says it awarded nearly $37 million in grants to nonprofit agencies in 2019. "The Hartford Foundation was able to support our community with significant resources this past year,” said Jay Williams, president of the foundation. “We continue to look for ways to work together with our donors, nonprofits, and community partners to ensure greater Hartford residents have access to opportunities that enrich their lives and to secure a better future for our region.”
