NEW BRITIAN, CT -- Through November 10, the Hurricane Maria Puerto Rico Relief Fund had received more than $31,000 from individuals, families, foundations, businesses, civic and school groups.
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, CT -- The local public transportation system, 9 Town Transit (9TT), is partnering with the United Way to bring transportation to the residents of Puerto Rico who have landed in Connecticut following the devastating hurricane, Maria. To help provide this service, 9TT has started a fund-raiser. For $59, a donor may purchase a pass that will provide unlimited service on all 9TT bus routes, six days a week for an entire calendar month. Passengers can board a 9TT bus in Middletown, ride down to Old Saybrook, and transfer all the way to Madison or East Lyme.
