WATERBURY, CT -- In the wake of several fall hurricanes, Connecticut Community Foundation heard from donors wondering how to give so that they would make an impact in the affected communities. They heard particular concern for Puerto Rico, where many local residents have ties and where damage is especially devastating.

DANBURY, CT -- A very generous $34,500 grant from the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) enabled the CityCenter Danbury Farmers’ Market to continue through the entire season, to offer fresh local produce to people who might otherwise not have access to healthy options.
DARIEN and NEW CANAAN, CT -- On this Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28, The Community Fund of Darien will face off against The New Canaan Community Foundation to see who can raise the most money (strictly between 12:01 am to 11:59 pm that day) to support their communities.
HARTFORD, CT -- In an effort to better serve people facing foreclosure involving reverse mortgages, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has awarded the Connecticut Fair Housing Center a three-year, $235,000 grant to support the Reverse Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Project.
SOUTHINGTON, CT -- A wellness grant from the Bradley Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust is helping local groups educate teachers on drug trends, fund treatment for addicted youth and provide more counseling services to families of the addicted. Main Street Community Foundation, which oversees the trust, gave $25,600 to LISA Inc., a local non-profit which is partnering with the Southington Town-Wide Effort to Promote Success and the town’s Youth Services to provide addiction prevention and treatment.
