Hartford Foundation Supports Opioid Education for Medical Providers

HARTFORD, CT -- Thanks to an $80,000 grant funded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) has been able to support the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Comprehensive Education and Needs Training (NASCENT) project. This project was created to educate clinicians about their role in decreasing opioid misuse, thus reducing the number of individuals exposed to opioids in the first place – a critical public health concern.

The Great(est) Give: Over $1.7 Million Raised for Local Nonprofits

NEW HAVEN, CT -- The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (The Foundation) is excited to announce the results of The Great Give® 2018, the region’s ninth community-wide online fundraising event for nonprofits serving The Foundation’s 20-town region. In 36 hours, the community raised over $1.7 million, far surpassing previous years, for Greater New Haven’s nonprofits. Nearly 11,000 donors gave to 406 nonprofits, once again proving their commitment to our community.

Women & Girls Fund Supports Financial Literacy, Job Skills

TORRINGTON, CT -- The Women & Girls Fund, a fund of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has awarded $9,500 in grants in support of local organizations that are working to develop economic self-sufficiency for women by means of education, financial literacy and social services.
