Carlton Highsmith Receives Award

BRIDGEPORT, CT -- The Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC) will induct entrepreneur and philanthropist Carlton L. Highsmith into the GNEMSDC Hall of Fame at the West Putnam Club at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts at the Council’s 2018 Business Conference and Expo on Friday September 21, 2018.

Behind a Community Funder's Foray into Voter Engagement

NORWALK, CT -- Fairfield County's Community Foundation (FCCF) in Connecticut, is pairing mini-grants to local nonprofits with programming to encourage voter registration prior to November 6. FCCF’s Get Out the Vote program is its first foray into voter engagement, and it reflects this community funder’s new commitment to advocacy and public policy work. Year-End Critical Needs Grants Now Available

TORRINGTON, CT -- The Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has allocated a minimum of $55,000 to distribute to public charities and faith-based organizations in its 20-town service area* for year-end critical-needs grants. More may be available based on need. Grants are made possible through the Draper Foundation Fund and the Marion Wm. & Alice Edwards Fund. Apply by October 12, 2018.
