Southbury’s Brian M. Jones and Roxbury’s Stephen Seward Join Connecticut Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees

WATERBURY, CT -- Connecticut Community Foundation’s members have elected Brian M. Jones of Southbury and Stephen Seward of Roxbury to three-year terms on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Jones and Seward will join a board composed of local residents from across 21 towns in the Foundation’s service area in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills.

Connecticut Office of the Arts and Hartford Foundation-Sponsored Survey to Study Greater Hartford Arts Landscape

HARTFORD, CT -- Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving have sponsored a study of the arts landscape in Greater Hartford including a workforce survey of local organizations in the field. The results of this study will help the COA and the Hartford Foundation to better understand the arts ecology in a more holistic way as well as inform future arts funding strategies.

Survey Reveals Hurricane Evacuees in Connecticut Need Access to Basic Necessities Including Food, Housing, Medical Services and Jobs

HARTFORD, CT -- About 13,000 residents of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who arrived in Connecticut in the aftermath of the hurricanes Maria and Irma continue to struggle with obtaining basic needs including adequate housing, food, medical care and jobs, according to a survey commissioned by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

Community Foundation Tops $700,000 in Scholarship Awards to Over 260 Students Across Eastern CT

NEW LONDON, CT -- The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut (CFECT) announces an unprecedented level of college scholarships made possible through the generosity of donors who believe in the power of education to change lives. More than 260 students from its 42 communities in Eastern Connecticut were selected by The Foundation’s Scholarship Committees to receive over $700,000 in single and multi-year awards.
