SOUTHINGTON, CT -- The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain in 2017 awarded three grants to Southington organizations totaling $42,500 in aid. From 2012 to 2017, CFGNB has provided Southington, either to organizations directly in town or to organizations outside of town with a local impact, with more than $2 million in financial aid. SOUTHBURY, CT -- The Pomperaug District Department of Health, which covers Southbury, Woodbury and Oxford, will use a $23,000 grant from the Connecticut Community Foundation to run programs for older adults who use prescription pain medications. The new program, called Senior Health Opiate Awareness and Response (SHOAR), will add senior-specific presentations to existing opioid prevention initiatives and new Chronic Pain Self-Management Programs for senior communities in the three towns.

NEW BRITAIN, CT -- The American Savings Foundation has awarded a $150,000 grant to support expansion of the Autism Center at Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, including development of a partial hospitalization program and an education and day center.
