New Grant Helps Children's Museum Expand Its Hartford Footprint
WEST HARTFORD, CT -- A new grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving will allow the West Hartford-based Children’s Museum to bring Hartford children more STEAM programming. Michael Werle, the museum’s executive director, said a partnership between the museum, the Hartford Public Library, the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Hartford, and Connecticut Children’s is going to help the museum expand on its offerings in the city.

Jackie Coleman, Senior Education Investments Officer at Hartford Foundation, joins WNPR's Lydia Brown and Lucy Nalpathanchil, and others to consider efforts to better support the region’s artists. They also look back on the early years of hip-hop and breaking (a.k.a. breakdancing) in Connecticut, and hear how some young people are learning and performing these styles today.
