STAMFORD, CT -- The Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County has received a grant of a $35,000 from the United Way of Western Connecticut. The grant will provide critical funding to enable families to access high-quality early childhood education at the the Children’s Learning Centers. The United Way said it is working to help families it describes as Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed, or ALICE.

MIDDLETOWN, CT -- Middlesex Chamber of Commerce wraped up another successful installment of the Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program. They placed youngsters into subsidized employment in a wide variety of professional fields for six weeks in the summer months, working 20 hours per week. The 2020 team of funding partners included: Workforce Alliance, the City of Middletown, Peach Pit Foundation, Liberty Bank Foundation, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, Jarvis Products Corporation, Stone Investment Properties, and Middlesex United Way.

10 Bus Shelters in West Hartford Coming Alive With Murals
WEST HARTFORD, CT -- Ten bus shelter murals, with jolts of lively color, thought-provoking images and sometimes whimsical fun, are coming to West Hartford. The murals are commissioned by the town’s Art League, with each artist receiving a stipend of $600 to create his or her mural. The project was funded by a grant from the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Foundation.
