HARTFORD, CT -- Aetna (NYSE: AET) is offering resources to members who may be impacted by Hurricane Michael in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. In addition, the Aetna Foundation will be making a $100,000 disaster relief contribution to the Florida Disaster Fund to support those who are impacted by Hurricane Michael.
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation Announces New 2019 Healthy Food Fund Grants RFP
WELLESLEY, MA -- Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation has announced its 2019 Healthy Food Fund Grant Guidelines and RFP. The Foundation is looking to support 25 local nonprofit organizations located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire that are primarily volunteer-powered to grow, glean or distribute fresh, free produce to low-income families and older adults. Grant awards will be up to $25,000 per year and are eligible for renewal for up to three years. A total of $625,000 will be awarded throughout the region in 2019.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The nation, writ large, has a moral responsibility to ensure the needs of veterans are met, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said at a ceremony where the Newman’s Own Foundation distributed funds to charities serving service members, their families and veterans. Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford praised Newman’s Own for its dedication to service members, veterans and their families. The group distributed $200,000 to five organizations during the Oct. 5 ceremony in the Pentagon’s Hall of Heroes.
