Looking for Progress in America's Smaller Legacy Cities: A Report for Place-based Funders, a joint publication of The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities and the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and New York, looks at four cities and how place-based funders are helping in post-recession economic recovery. What began as an inquiry into four small legacy cities — Chattanooga, TN; Cedar Rapids, IA; Rochester, NY; and Grand Rapids, MI — that appeared to have experienced some measure of post-recession revitalization evolved into an understanding of the important role place-based funders play in connecting economic growth and opportunity.
