FAIR HAVEN, CT -- United Way of Greater New Haven learned late last week that the influx of families from Puerto Rico was straining the food delivery efforts in Fair Haven. United Way donors answered the call for help, and in just a few days, we collected $3,750—enough to provide food for 75 families.

University Hopes to Raise $1.35 Million for United Way

NEW HAVEN, CT -- On behalf of the University and its partners at the charitable organization United Way of Greater New Haven, University President Peter Salovey kicked off the 2017–2018 Yale United Way fundraising campaign on Oct. 3. The campaign will raise money for the nonprofit, which brings the community together around the Greater New Haven area to tackle issues of health, education and financial stability.

BRANFORD, CT -- At 16 years old, Branford Early Childhood Collaborative (BECC), once a grassroots group, is evolving to meet its continuing mission. Now in the process of becoming a 501 (c)3 non-profit, BECC also has a newly established, 15-person Board of Directors chaired by Dr. Bruce Storm Ed.D. The new direction grew out of a change in funding support. For many years, BECC was largely funded with support from the Graustein Memorial Fund and operated under the umbrella of United Way of Greater New Haven.

Catholic Groups Aid Disaster Victims, At-risk New Haven youth

NEW HAVEN, CT -- The Knights of Columbus has raised more than $2.8 million for its outreach efforts in the wake of recent natural disasters that have plagued the southern U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. Catholic Charities has announced that it was awarded a $20,000 grant from the United Way of Greater New Haven to help support Centro San José’s comprehensive educational and enrichment program for New Haven youth.
