TORRINGTON, CT -- The Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation and Danosky & Associates, LLC congratulates 10 new graduates of the Leadership Enrichment for Advancing Professionals (LEAP) program. The graduates completed the intensive seven-week program designed toward building skills in all areas of nonprofit leadership. Since 2014, The LEAP program has educated nearly 50 nonprofit employees from 40 different nonprofits in the Northwest Corner.
Consisting of seven three-hour sessions and one four-hour session, the seven-week program is designed to build a foundation of skills and awareness for nonprofit professionals. Facilitators share their experience, expertise, and insights while engaging participants in presentations, group discussions, research and case study analysis, simulations, home assignments, and action-planning activities that explore leadership, board governance, finance management, human resources, fundraising and budgeting.

Established in 1969, the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation serves 20 towns in Northwest Connecticut. Its total endowment, comprised of more than 280 funds, has grown from initial assets of $15,000 to almost $102 million. Last year, combined grants and scholarships totaled $4 million.
