ORANGE, CT -- Avangrid, Inc. (NYSE: AGR) announced today that it is its consolidating administrative and executive functions at a facility that it owns in Orange, Connecticut.
The facility, at 180 Marsh Hill Road, will serve as Avangrid’s executive seat and official corporate headquarters, effective immediately.
Company officials made the announcement as Avangrid steps up integration activities and works towards its goal of being recognized as best-in-class in its industry by 2020.
“Since AVANGRID was formed over a year and a half ago, we’ve been focused on finding the best ways to deliver quality energy services to our customers and value to our shareowners,” AVANGRID CEO James P. Torgerson said. “One of the ways we’re accomplishing this is by aligning our facilities and corporate functions to reduce costs and promote best practices.”
AVANGRID, with more than $31 billion in assets and operations in 27 U.S. states, was formed in December 2015 with the merger of Iberdrola USA and UIL Holdings Corporation.
Through Avangrid Networks, it owns eight regulated utilities serving 3.2 million customers in New York and New England. These are: New York State Electric & Gas and Rochester Gas & Electric in New York; Central Maine Power and Maine Natural Gas in Maine; United Illuminating, Southern Connecticut Gas and Connecticut Natural Gas in Connecticut; and Berkshire Gas in Massachusetts.
Through Avangrid Renewables it operates more than 6 gigawatts of owned and controlled renewable generation capacity, primarily through wind and solar, in 22 states across the United States.
