NEW BRITAIN, CT -- American Savings Foundation announced the launch of its new website at www.asfdn.org. The new website is mobile responsive and highlights the Foundation’s many areas of giving.
“We hope that the enhancements to the site will make it even easier for grantseekers and scholarship applicants to learn about and apply to the American Savings Foundation,” said Maria Falvo, President and CEO of the American Savings Foundation.
Responding to feedback from grantseekers, the site includes a new online application for our Community Grants program. These grants are designed to respond to the wide range of local needs throughout the 64 towns served by the American Savings Foundation. The online application makes it easier for nonprofit agencies to apply for grants of up to $5,000.
The Foundation is also currently accepting online applications for the Robert T. Kenney Scholarship Program. Current high school seniors, current college students, and nontraditional adult students who will be enrolled in college for the 2019-2020 academic year are welcome to apply. The website has links to other area scholarship programs as well as resources for learning about financial aid.
In 2018, the Foundation awarded nearly $2.5 million to area nonprofit organizations to support a wide range of programs and services in the areas of education, human services, and arts and culture. In addition, the Foundation awarded over $765,000 to area students through the Robert T. Kenney Scholarship Program. Together, this totaled $3.25 million in grants and scholarships distributed in 2018.
American Savings Foundation is a permanent charitable endowment which provides grants to local nonprofit organizations, and college scholarships to area students. Since its inception in 1995 the Foundation has contributed over $57 million in total grants and scholarships in central Connecticut.
