LAKEVILLE, CT -- The Foundation for Community Health is again sponsoring its annual educational event for the medical, science, health, and academic community. This year’s topic, Non-Healthcare Factors Impacting Male Health Disparities: What healthcare providers need to know, will be presented by Wizdom Powell, PhD, MPH, Director of the Health Disparities Institute at the University of Connecticut Health.
The lecture and buffet dinner will begin at 6 PM on May 17, 2018 at The Interlaken Inn, 74 Interlaken Road in Lakeville, Connecticut.
The presentation is approved for 1.5 AMA PRA category 1 CME credits and will provide the audience with a wide array of topic-related information including:
- Learn the epidemiology of male health disparities in the U.S.
- Recognize male-role specific barriers to healthcare utilization and help-seeking
- Differentiate types of barriers unique to males from underserved population groups
- Identify strategies for increasing male healthcare engagement
