The Tow Foundation is pleased to announce that Meghan Lowney has joined its team as Vice President of Strategy and Impact. In her newly-created role, Meghan will collaborate closely with the Foundation’s president, Emily Tow, as well as its board of directors, other senior leaders and across the organization.

Meghan brings extensive experience across the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and holds a deep commitment to equity and justice. She will leverage her expertise to build upon the Foundation’s existing priorities, deepen and grow its partnerships and relationships, and continue to shape its philanthropic impact.

Emily Tow, President of The Tow Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for the appointment: “Meghan is joining the team at a pivotal moment for our Foundation. Meghan’s expertise and vision will complement our existing team’s commitment as we work to support innovative and visionary leaders and organizations, expand our grantmaking, and partner with our peers to drive impact.”

Before joining the Foundation, Meghan served as the Principal at Ripple Effect Consulting and as the Executive Director of The ZOOM Foundation, supporting the trustees in their grantmaking efforts focused on education and climate change. Earlier in her career she worked to end homelessness as Executive Director of Operation Hope of Fairfield and founded a leadership development support organization, Five Frogs. Her past roles have equipped her with a deep understanding of social impact organizations, philanthropic strategies, and the importance of cross-sector collaboration.

“The Tow Foundation’s commitment to celebrating and supporting its diverse grantee partners across multiple, complex impact areas resonates with me,” said Meghan Lowney. “I am thrilled to contribute to Leonard and Claire Tow’s enduring vision. It is exciting to join a team that is actively shaping a more inclusive and impactful future through collaborative partnerships with its grantees.”
