Online Event Features Participatory Budgeting for Towns and Cities

The “Participatory Budgeting Works!” Zoom event scheduled for next Tuesday, June 19 at 12 noon has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for late-September.

HARTFORD, CT -- Everyday Democracy and Connecticut Civic Embassadors are hosting an online event, Participatory Budgeting Works!, on Tuesday, June 19 at 12:00 noon, to educate the community on paticipatory budgeting as a way of civic engagement. The free online event features a conversation with Richard Frieder a co-founder of Hartford Decide$ and principal of Community Capacity Builders.

Participatory budgeting is a different way to manage money, and to engage people in government. It is a democratic process in which community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. Event participants will leran about how this innovative process works.
