United Way Honor Presented at 93rd Annual Meeting
HARTFORD, CT -- Nancy Bernstein, Chief Operating Officer, Women’s Health USA and President and CEO at Women’s Health CT, was honored Tuesday with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut’s 2017 Community Service Award at the organization’s 93rd Annual Meeting.
The Community Service Award is United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut’s highest volunteer honor.
“We’re honored to have Nancy as a longtime, dedicated partner of United Way,” said Paula S. Gilberto, president and CEO, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut. “Nancy previously served on our Board of Directors and is a valued member of our Nominating and Governance Committee and United Way Women United. We thank her for continually Finding the Best Way to make a difference in our communities.”
93rd Annual Meeting Highlights
For the second time in United Way’s history, its annual campaign was spearheaded by Tri-Chairs. Oz Griebel, former President and CEO, MetroHartford Alliance; Tim Stewart, President, Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce; and Diane Nadeau, President and CEO, The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region led the 2017 United Way Community Campaign.
The Tri-Chairs rallied their communities to contribute to nonprofit agencies and United Way’s efforts to support local organizations that provide access to programs and services promoting education, financial security, health and basic needs. To date, the Community Campaign – the state’s largest health and human services campaign – has raised nearly $20 million and counting.
