HARTFORD — During its April board meeting, the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy elected Elaine V. Mintz, vice president of operations, Fairfield County's Community Foundation, as its new board chair to succeed outgoing chair Kathryn Luria, senior vice president of community affairs and director of philanthropy, Webster Bank. Joining CCP’s executive board leadership is Vice Chair Tiffany Donelson, vice president of programs, Connecticut Health Foundation, a West Hartford resident. Also from West Hartford is Jill Hutensky, senior vice president, Hartford market manager, Bank of America, who is one of six newly elected CCP Board members.

HARTFORD, CT -- Firebox, the innovative farm-to-table restaurant in Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood, will close after 13 years, citing the COVID-19 pandemic and “the uncertainty it has brought.” The Melville Charitable Trust launched Firebox on Broad Street in 2007, with a vision “to serve extraordinary food and to bring jobs, investment, and opportunity to the community." The restaurant became a destination for locally grown fare, crafting its daily menus with produce, meats and dairy from Connecticut farms.

NORWALK, CT -- A generous grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) will provide Norwalk Community College (NCC) students disparately impacted by COVID-19 with emergency financial assistance for technology, food and basic needs.
