NORWALK, CT -- In celebration of Diageo’s Military Service Appreciation Month, Diageo hosted its third annual packing party (#JoinThePack) to benefit United States troops on November 1st. Employee volunteers in Norwalk and New York City assembled 10,000 care packages for American troops deployed overseas and veterans, with charitable support provided by Crown Royal. Crown Royal’s Purple Bag Project is a part of the “Diageo Salutes the Troops” initiative and an extension of Diageo’s work around the globe to provide humanitarian relief.
Diageo has partnered with non-profit organizations including Packages from Home, an organization that works with outreach experts to deliver food and hygiene items to U.S. military veterans, and iPads for Soldiers, an organization that provides iPads to soldiers in battle and wounded warriors as morale boosters and key elements in the recovery process, will also be on site.
Distinguished guests included Mayor Harry Rilling, City of Norwalk and U.S. Military Veterans from various community organizations.
