Site highlights the Foundation’s efforts to lead the community’s efforts to reduce disparities and effect positive change across Greater Hartford

HARTFORD, CT -- The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has launched a new website to more effectively communicate its strategic focus and make it easier for donors, nonprofit agencies and community partners to support efforts to reduce disparities in and around Greater Hartford. (The website address remains hfpg.org.)

Over the past 18 months, a rigorous assessment made clear that the Hartford region must achieve greater racial, geographic and economic inclusion to reach its full potential as a vibrant, thriving and contributing force for regional and state prosperity. Persistent disparities affected by race/ethnicity, place (ZIP code) and income are barriers to fully realizing this vision.

“The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is reorganizing the way we do our work in support of our new strategic commitment,” said Bradford Drazen, the Hartford Foundation’s vice president for Communications and Marketing. “Whether you are a donor, nonprofit or policy maker, our revamped website illuminates and reinforces our new approach and makes it easier to collaborate with the Foundation.”

Working with the Hartford-based creative team at CO:LAB, the Foundation reimagined its website using fewer levels of content, streamlining the process of finding information. The new design is compatible with traditional desktop and laptop computers, but it is also optimized for those who prefer to access the internet on smartphones or tablets.

“Mobile users represent more than half of our visits,” said Drazen. “As that number continues to grow each year, maximizing mobile functionality was crucial to keeping the Hartford Foundation accessible to those we serve.”

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is the community foundation for Hartford and 28 surrounding communities. Made possible by the gifts of generous individuals, families and organizations, the Foundation has awarded grants of more than $750 million since its founding in 1925.
