In partnership with GSB, The Guilford Foundation distributed $28,300 to 19 nonprofits in 2024 to support critical fundraising and brand-building priorities. In the third review of the year, Clifford W. Beers Guidance Clinic, Shoreline Village CT, and St. George Men's Group received funding. The 2024 awards ranged in size from $500 to $2,500. Community partners that received sponsorship funding include APK Charities, Clifford W. Beers Guidance Clinic, Community Dining Room, Community Nursery School, Friends of the Guilford Free Library, Guilford A Better Chance, Guilford Art Center, The Guilford Fair Parade, Guilford Porchfest, Legacy Theatre, North Guilford Congregational Church, Project Graduation, SARAH Foundation, Shoreline Arts Alliance, Shoreline Village CT, Soundview Family YMCA, St. George Men's Group, Theater Arts Parents Support (TAPS), and Women & Family Life Center. "We are so grateful for the generosity of GSB, who provides the funding for our sponsorship program along with three additional area community foundations," explained Executive Director Liza Janssen Petra. "The money is critical for our nonprofit partners to offset expenses associated with fundraising. Additionally, these events truly enrich the quality of life in Guilford. The diversity is expansive, ranging from the Guilford Fair Parade, Porchfest, GHS theater performances, the Italian Festival, an ice cream social, and even the beloved book sale at the library. There is something for everyone to enjoy."
