As a transplant to Connecticut, I fully embrace the state motto “Qui Transtulit Sustinet,” (He Who Transplanted Still Sustains) in a posture of hope and anticipation of my work as the President of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy to build philanthropy to build a better Connecticut. This blog will be an opportunity for us to engage in a conversation about how we do this work together. My goal is to absorb what I am seeing in the field, digest what is happening and think about how we might hold one another accountable, be transparent, be innovative and seek impact from philanthropy using lessons from leaders and innovators from around the globe. At the end of the day the conversation is about how to bring about sustainable social change for social good and the myriad ways and times for philanthropy to lead, participate and follow in this patient revolution. I look forward to the conversation and am happy to be a transplant in this beautiful state. I am certain to bloom where planted with such fertile ground.
