HARTFORD, CT -- CHEFA, The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority is pleased to announce the FY 2018 Nonprofit Grant Program award winners. The CHEFA Board of Directors met on May 16, 2018 and voted to award $1,048,238 in grant funds to nineteen nonprofit organizations. The award winners represent three of CHEFA’s funding priority areas of healthcare, education, and culture. Awardees were based in six different Connecticut counties. Grants were made for capital expenditures or program expenses and ranged between $25,000-$75,000. CHEFA is one of the only funders that provides grants statewide, as well as providing grants for capital expenditures. The Authority receives no state funds.
“CHEFA is proud to fill a unique philanthropic niche for Connecticut’s nonprofit organizations. We are confident that the grant funds will support healthcare, education, and cultural agencies making a difference in the lives of so many throughout the state” remarked Betty Sugerman Weintraub, CHEFA’s Grant Program Manager.
