HARTFORD, CT -- Bonnie J. Malley has been named vice president of finance and administration at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the community foundation for Hartford and 28 surrounding communities.
“I’m delighted to welcome Bonnie to our Foundation team,” said Jay Williams, president of the Hartford Foundation. “The depth of her experience in finance and administration and her long-standing commitment to our community will help drive our mission forward.”
Malley has been serving as chief operating officer for the City of Hartford since July 2016 and had previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at The Phoenix Cos. Prior to her role as Chief Financial Officer at Phoenix, Malley served as chief administrative officer, responsible for overseeing human resources, information technology and other administrative functions.
As part of the Hartford Foundation’s executive leadership team, Malley will play a critical role in advancing the organization’s mission by marshalling the financial, technological, and human resources needed to sustain current and emerging work. Malley will also be responsible for ensuring that the Foundation’s assets of over $950 million are prudently invested and managed.

A longtime resident of the Hartford region, Malley has been actively engaged in the Greater Hartford community and has served on a number of boards of community organizations including the Hartford Foundation, the Connecticut chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice, the MetroHartford Alliance, Hartford Promise, and The Connecticut Forum. She also is a trustee of The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts; and a founding member of United Way Women's Leadership Council.
