University Hopes to Raise $1.35 Million for United Way

NEW HAVEN, CT -- On behalf of the University and its partners at the charitable organization United Way of Greater New Haven, University President Peter Salovey kicked off the 2017–2018 Yale United Way fundraising campaign on Oct. 3. The campaign will raise money for the nonprofit, which brings the community together around the Greater New Haven area to tackle issues of health, education and financial stability.

Connecticut Companies Invited to Hold Bear-Raiser Drives to Help Local Families

NEW CANAAN, CT -- This holiday season, several businesses will change the lives of local families by helping to keep them from becoming homeless. The Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness announced today the launch of its annual be homeful for the holidays promotion featuring Paddington Bear™. The organization is partnering with businesses and communities throughout the state to hold bear-raiser drives that will raise funds for giving emergency assistance to families on the verge of becoming homeless. This promotion is made possible through the generous support of CT REALTORS® Foundation, Citizens Bank, and the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.

People's United Bank Marks 175 Year Anniversary With Foundation Gift

BRIDGEPORT, CT -- People's United Bank , N.A. a subsidiary of People's United Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: PBCT), will celebrate its 175th anniversary on December 24th. To commence the celebration, the bank today announced a $175,000 grant from People's United Community Foundation to Junior Achievement USA, who will use the funding for upcoming regional financial literacy and career-readiness programs for youth across six states that align with the People's United footprint, including: CT, NY, MA, VT, NH, ME. This is the single largest one-time grant gifted by the Foundation to a non-profit organization since launching in 2007.
