Giving Fund: Families Try to Stick Together Through Holiday Season

DANBURY, CT -- As it has done for several weeks now, The News-Times, in partnership with the United Way of Western Connecticut, will continue to present cases like Michael’s every Thursday through the holiday season. The six stories highlighted each week outline how a local resident or family, whose names have been changed to protect their privacy, could be helped by receiving an estimated dollar amount.

Multimedia Exhibit Focuses On West Hartford's Diversity

WEST HARTFORD, CT -- A new multimedia exhibit will put West Hartford's diverse population on display. The project was developed over the last year by town employees Roszena Haskins, the town's director of adult and continuing education, and Kerry Jones, director of elementary education, after receiving a $50,000 grant from the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund.

For Goodness Sake Awarded Grant from The Broad View Fund

BRITOL, CT -- On December 2, For Goodness Sake was awarded an $11,562 grant from The Broad View Fund at Main Street Community Foundation. The grant will support a strategic planning process for growing the organization.
