HARTFORD, CT -- More than 1,000 youths in Greater Hartford will begin working under a summer career readiness program aimed at training young people for jobs in high-demand sectors. The Capital City contributed $1 million to the program, while the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving provided more than $400,000. The state, its labor unit department and the American Savings Foundation and other groups also provided funding for the workforce program.

GROTON, CT -- The Chelsea Groton Foundation awarded $189,585 in grants to 67 non-profit organizations from Connecticut and Rhode Island this spring.
NORWALK, CT -- Fairfield County's Community Foundation's new, nonpartisan initiative is designed to fund efforts to increase voter registration and information access for all County residents, particularly those who are historically disenfranchised. FCCF’s Get Out the Vote (GOTV) program offers support to nonprofits to boost local efforts to engage underrepresented voters in Fairfield County. Applications due by July 27, 2018.
