WATERBURY, CT -- Webster Bank today announced its 2018 Webster United Way Employee Campaign garnered a record-breaking $1.55 million through pledges from bankers as well as fundraising events and a corporate contribution – a $53,000 increase from 2017.

Nonprofits, Colleges Share $1M Grants for Workforce Development

HARTFORD, CT -- Several nonprofits and state colleges are splitting more than $1 million in grants from a quasi-public funder to spur workforce development in Connecticut. The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA), an agency that lends tax-exempt capital to nonprofits, on Wednesday awarded several grants aimed at expanding science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programming and job training in the state.

Civic Life Project Receives Grant From Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation to Develop Pilot Middle School Program

CORNWALL BRIDGE, CT -- The Civic Life Project, which has successfully developed civic engagement, cross-cultural understanding, and social responsibility among high school students since 2010, has received a grant of $6,000 from The Buchanan Fund, a fund of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation to adapt and expand its existing program for middle schools.
