Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Announces Three New Appointees to Board of Directors

HARTFORD, CT -- The Hartford Foundation is pleased to announce three new appointments to its Board of Directors. Estela López of East Hartford and I. Charles Matthews and Mark Overmyer-Velázquez of West Hartford will each begin their terms on January 1, 2019 on the Board of the Hartford Foundation, the community foundation for Hartford and 28 surrounding communities.

Paul Mounds to Join Lamont Staff

HARTFORD, CT -- Connecticut Health Foundation's Paul H. Mounds, Jr., has been named to Gov.-elect Ned Lamont's adminstrative staff. Mounds will become chief operating officer -- a newly created role in the governor's office -- when Lamont assumes the governor's seat in January. Mounds will oversee and work with all state agency commissioners to leverage Lamont's agenda into initiatives.

The NEA Foundation Names Sara Sneed New President and CEO

WASHINGTON, DC -- On the cusp of its 50th anniversary in 2019, the NEA Foundation, a public charity founded by educators for educators, today announced that Sara Sneed, a nationally recognized champion of public education, will succeed Harriet Sanford as president and CEO of the NEA Foundation on March 1, 2019.
