NEW LONDON, CT -- On March 8, International Women’s Day, advocates around the globe celebrate the achievements of women and call for advancing gender equality. NEW LONDON, CT -- The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut commissioned DataHaven to develop a report on the Status of Women and Girls in Eastern Connecticut, and the findings provide an insightful snapshot of disparities that persist, and challenges that remain and may increase, as well as diminish, in the years ahead.
NEW LONDON, CT -- While a new report on the status of women and girls in eastern Connecticut will serve the region as a rich source of statistics, solutions and challenges, it is really an iron hand in a velvet glove. It comes with an agenda The Day heartily endorses: a coordinated philanthropic strategy for better lives for girls and women. The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut has begun the rollout of the report, subtitled "A Catalyst for Action," to document where women of all ages stand in regard to health, education level, employment, financial stability and security from domestic violence.
BRISTOL, CT -- At their Annual Meeting & Grantee Reception on January 18, 2018, the Women & Girls’ Fund of Main Street Community Foundation awarded a record $51,111 in grants to 14 organizations serving women and girls in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.
