HARTFORD, CT -- This week, small teams of Prudential employees in Newark and Hartford are pairing up with local nonprofits, offering support and advice on business strategy, finance, marketing and HR. The events are part of Pro Bono Week, a worldwide celebration of professional services donated in the public interest.

NORWALK, CT -- Singer/songwriter John Mayer has established the Richard Mayer Scholarship Fund at Fairfield County's Community Foundation in honor of his father, Richard, who turned 90 last week. The four-year scholarship will provide funds to a student pursuing the field of education.
NEW CANAAN, CT -- Over the past 40 years, the foundation has given to local nonprofits in a range of areas, including youth programs, human services, elderly and special needs, health care and arts and culture. In 1987, its grants topped $100,000 and it distributed $1 million in grants in 2013. The foundation also awards over $100,000 worth of scholarships to students, many from the Sapienza Scholarship Fund established in 2007.
