A fun and festive celebration of The Community Foundation of Eastern CT's Women & Girls Fund, the “force for good” that together, we have created and nurtured for two decades.
After 20 years of effort and impact, it's time for us to celebrate — celebrate our founders, supporters and success!
In 1999, 200 women – and some caring men – became the Founding Members of the Southeast Women & Girls Fund. Together with other generous donors, we put the Fund on the map, achieving an initial $1,000,000 endowment within five years.
After two decades of growing the Fund, managing it well and encouraging the engagement of others, we have more than tripled it to today's $3.7 million level.
These dollars have been returned to our community, time and time again, advancing the wellness, independence, safety and equity of local women and girls. To date, $1.4 million has been awarded for 283 programs.
