For those interested, the Center for Effective Philanthropy is hosting a free webinar on the effects of MacKenzie Scott’s large, unrestricted gifts to nonprofits. MacKenzie Scott’s giving has diverged from more common approaches in philanthropy, earning both praise and critique. With new data in year two of a three-year study, CEP further analyzes the effects and emerging impacts of these gifts. The report examines: to what extent Scott’s giving has influenced other funders’ approaches; whether nonprofits believe the grant increased their impact, and in what ways; how they have allocated the money; and whether they have experienced any unintended negative consequences. In a free webinar Nov. 30, 2-3:15pm ET, CEP’s research team will present the new data followed by a conversation with nonprofit and philanthropic leaders.
