We hope you will be able to join us for this week’s CCP member COVID-19 response check-in call on Friday, April 10, at 12:00 PM.
As we all respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic it is more important than ever to stay connected, both as key responders and as a community. We will provide an overview of response efforts to date, and create space for members to share updates, raise areas of concern, and ask questions of one another.
On last week’s call, members shared a strong interest in getting more information about demographic data and potential disparities in how communities are being affected by COVID-19 in our state.
We are very fortunate that this week we will be joined by Dr. Tekisha Dwan Everette, Executive Director, Health Equity Solutions.
Dr. Everette will provide an overview of what is known at this time about the health equity dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic in Connecticut: are certain communities experiencing greater impacts? Are there disparities in access to testing, health care and other critical resources? How much remains unknown, and what further data and systems are needed in order to achieve an equity-informed response?
Weekly check-in calls will be hosted on CCP's Zoom platform. Members will have the option of joining via video conference or as a standard conference call. We encourage you to join in via the video conference, even if this is relatively new and unfamiliar. We are finding “virtual meetings” to be an excellent way of still feeling connected even as we work apart.
If you would like to share an update about your COVID-19 response, please email Karla Fortunato by Friday morning. We will include as many as we can on this week’s call, and can include any we don’t have time for on the next check-in call.
