Who should attend? This series is for anyone who has joined the sector in the last few years, or who is interested in reviewing the fundamentals. It is open to all staff and board of philanthropic organizations, including those in leadership, program, grantmaking, administrative, financial, human resources, communications, development, and trustee roles.
This interactive series provides a historical overview of philanthropy, reviews foundation governance and legal issues, explains the grantmaking process, debates current big issues in philanthropy, and explores roles and power dynamics. Participants are encouraged to attend as many modules as possible as the series is also designed to support staff in building their professional network.
Fundamentals of Philanthropy is an update of CCP’s Philanthropy 101 curriculum, originally developed by Philanthropy New York in partnership with the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy's Grantmaking School.
