Will the virus kill American child care? Centers across America need help desperately

NEW YORK, NY -- Imagine, for a moment, a future when the coronavirus pandemic is at last behind us. Stores are reopening, people are leaving their homes and workers are returning to their jobs. However, because Congress did not provide for the thousands of child-care providers across the country that desperately needed assistance, the vast majority have been forced to close their doors forever.

Census Seeks More Time Due to COVID-19

HARTFORD, CT -- With about half of Connecticut counted, the Commerce Department said Monday it will seek congressional authorization to delay the completion of the 2020 Census due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

United Way Invests $150,000 for Local COVID-19 Related Relief

HARTFORD, CT -- United Way's Board of Directors held a special meeting last week to approve a $150,000 investment in the organization's Neighbors in Need fund. The fund, which is dedicated to disaster relief and response, will provide individuals and families with food, emergency assistance and childcare services through community-based organizations.
