New Reach Out and Read Research Underway in Connecticut

MIDDLETOWN, CT -- Reach Out and Read has launched a new research study being conducted in Connecticut. Thanks to the generous support of The Grossman Family Foundation, and The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr/ U.S. Bank Foundation, the study, "Rx for Success: A Randomized Controlled Trial of Technology-Based Dialogic Reading Training Incorporated into the Reach Out and Read Program" started enrolling families in April of 2018.

Women’s Giving Circle, Aiming to Improve Lives of Women and Girls in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills, Awards First Grants

WATERBURY, CT -- The Women’s Giving Circle at Connecticut Community Foundation, formed in 2017 so members could pool their dollars, study local issues and award grants together to nonprofit organizations tackling issues affecting women and girls in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills, has awarded their first grants—totaling $34,000— to seven community groups.

$2,200 Raised to Support Local Men and Boys’ Needs

BRISTOL, CT -- On Monday, June 25th, 52 people attended “Raise a Pint,” the initial fundraiser for the Men & Boys’ Fund at Main Street Community Foundation raising more than $2,200 to fund grants for existing programs and to provide for small immediate needs.
