NEW HAVEN, CT -- Yale University’s Minding the Baby® (MTB) National Office was awarded an 18-month grant from the Grossman Family Foundation beginning in January 2017 to expand the MTB home visiting intervention in Connecticut. But another factor -- the tax benefits for giving -- could soon change if lawmakers push through tax reform. Few people donate simply because of the tax breaks and are unlikely to stop giving altogether if they don't get any. But analyses from the Congressional Budget Office and others have found that tax incentives typically increase how much you choose to donate -- whether in life or at death.

MIDDLETOWN, CT -- The Rockfall Foundation has recently begun a multiyear renovation effort to preserve its 1790s deKoven House headquarters and potentially open up even more available office space for environmentally-focused nonprofit organizations. Rockfall recently received a $10,700 grant from the 1772 Foundation and Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation that, with a required match from the organization, will pay for masonry work, painting and other exterior repairs.
