Young People have been at the center of movements for progressive social change throughout the history of our nation. There are a number of ways in which young people become involved in change movements. Some may have a generational exposure to civic activism through their families; others may have a critical awakening during their college years; others may choose to participate in the political electoral process.
I am sure that many of us have seen athletes celebrating too soon and losing the race or game as a result. Our recent legislative session brings it to mind because it is easy for the wins and progress to be celebrated.
The Council is hosting a special series of workshops focused on “Aligning Practices with Values.” Many funders have made commitments to equity, and we are providing programs and resources to support moving to impactful action.
