CCP Update - DACA Renewal Scholarships

Friday, September 15, 2017

We just received information about two sources of DACA renewal scholarships for eligible students. If you or your grantees are working with populations eligible for the DACA renewals, please forward them the following information and resources.

Mission Asset Fund (MAF) announced on September 13 that it will provide $1,000,000 in scholarships to 2,000+ Dreamers to pay for DACA renewals by the October 5 deadline. Half of the scholarships are available nationwide.

DACA recipients facing financial hardship should apply ASAP. MAF may exhaust funds due to high demand, but they will continue to fundraise from foundations and individual donors. The website will be updated if funds are exhausted and they will likely shift to offering zero-interest renewal loans nationally.

Connecticut Students for a Dream is a youth-led statewide network fighting for the rights of undocumented youth and their families. They have a fund for renewals and have organized free DACA Renewal Application Clinics to help applicants file and complete DACA renewal applications.
