DERBY, CT -- The Valley Community Foundation (VCF) is pleased to announce that $740,250 has been awarded as a result of its 2018 Responsive Grants process. This includes support for 11 new organizations as well as previous multi-year funding for 14 additional nonprofits. These grant dollars will help provide a reliable source of funding during a time of financial uncertainty.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The biennial 2018 U.S. Trust Study of High Net Worth Philanthropy found that 90 percent of affluent households gave to charity in 2017, and 48 percent of them volunteered at nonprofits. In addition, annual giving among the wealthy in 2017 rose by 15 percent compared with two years earlier.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The nation, writ large, has a moral responsibility to ensure the needs of veterans are met, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said at a ceremony where the Newman’s Own Foundation distributed funds to charities serving service members, their families and veterans. Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford praised Newman’s Own for its dedication to service members, veterans and their families. The group distributed $200,000 to five organizations during the Oct. 5 ceremony in the Pentagon’s Hall of Heroes.
