MIDDLETOWN, CT -- Building on their first round of $100,000 in emergency grants they approved in April for ten local hospitals, Liberty Bank of Middletown, Connecticut today announced that through their charitable foundation they will be providing an additional $100,000 in funding to support several other community organizations in their COVID-19 response.
HARTFORD, CT -- Today the City of Hartford conducted two significant distributions of PPE. The first distribution today is in partnership with the State of Connecticut and CBIA-CONNSTEP, which will provide more than 3,500 recently donated surgical masks to more than 100 essential businesses in Hartford that registered online. A partnership between the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, and New Britain medical equipment manufacturer OKAY Industries, Inc., produced 4,000 face shields for more than a dozen regional non-profits.
HARTFORD, CT -- The state has now also announced plans to develop a statewide effort rooted in the state’s 169 communities. The newest initiative, to include municipal officials, community-based organizations, nonprofit providers, and philanthropic partners – establishes local long-term recovery committees that will help meet urgent needs, accelerate recovery, and expedite coordination with the state’s emergency management structure, according to state officials.
