CONNECTICUT -- The Liberty Bank Foundation has approved $241,500 in grants to nonprofit organizations serving Liberty Bank’s market area and surrounding towns to support programs that will provide early childhood education, affordable housing, and basic human needs.

Connecticut Early Childhood Trauma Training Needs Assessment
Connecticut Association for Infant Mental Health (CT-AIMH) and their Early Childhood Trauma Collaborative partners are striving to increase the competency and capacity of the workforce serving infants and young children and their families to address the needs of children and families experiencing, or who have experienced trauma. In preparation for this work Lorentson Consulting was contracted to conduct a comprehensive statewide needs assessment in line with the tenets of participatory evaluation. The report was made possible by the Early Childhood Funder Collaborative, a project of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy.

Stamford's Summer Preschool Program Expands in Second Year
STAMFORD, CT -- The Stamford Public Education Foundation’s Summer Start program, housed at Stillmeadow Elementary School, runs a six-week preschool for students from low-income families who have had no formal academic schooling. I It’s made possible with $90,000 of funding provided by United Way of Western Connecticut, Legg Mason, and Impact Fairfield County, which provided $100,000 to be used over the course of two years.
