CONNECTICUT COUNCIL FOR PHILANTHROPY The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy (the "Council") has a goal of maintaining high standards for the protection of privacy over the Internet. The purpose of this privacy statement ("Privacy Statement") is to explain in a general manner the Council's policies with respect to the types of information the Council obtains about visitors to the Council's publicly accessible Web sites (collectively and individually, the "Council Web Sites") and how such information is used, and to confirm your consent to such policies and practices. Please note that this Privacy Statement does not apply to the access to or use of Web sites controlled or operated by the Council that are not available publicly (e.g., sites that must be accessed via a password and user I.D.), nor does this Privacy Statement apply to information collected by other sources or that is conspicuously submitted to the Council or any third parties. This Privacy Statement is part of, governed by and subject to the Terms and Conditions for the use of the Council Web Sites that may be accessed at www.CTphilanthropy.org/terms.htm. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal data to the Council, please contact us at ccp@CTphilanthropy.org, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases. To gauge the effectiveness of the Council Web Sites and the Council's services, to help the Council make efficient use of and improvements to the Council Web Sites and the Council's services, to help understand the Council's users and for other purposes, the Council collects certain non-personally identifiable information about visitors that does not reveal a visitor's identity. For example (and without limitation), the Council's Web server automatically recognizes a visitor's domain name (such as .com, .edu, etc.), the Web page from which a visitor enters a Council Web Site, which Web pages a visitor visits on the Council Web Sites and how much time a visitor spends on each Web page at a Council Web Site. The Council may, in the Council's sole discretion, use this information in a non-personally identifiable form or aggregate this information and use it for any purpose. The Council's policy is not to sell or disclose personally identifiable information obtained online about our visitors to anyone outside of the Council unless specifically authorized to do so by such visitors, or required by law, or if such disclosure is, in the Council's sole judgment, reasonably necessary to protect the safety of persons or property. The Council reserves the right to sell, assign or transfer any and all personally identifiable information collected via the Council Web Sites to any entity or individual in connection with any change in control, reorganization, sale, merger or transfer of the Council or all or substantially all of the Council's assets. The Council's policy is not to send unsolicited "junk" or "spam" e-mail. If you receive an unwanted e-mail from the Council, please simply send the Council an e-mail asking the Council not to send you future e-mails, and the Council will take reasonable steps in order to avoid sending such unwanted emails in the future. This Privacy Statement applies only to the Council Web Sites. The Council Web Sites may contain direct and indirect links to other Web sites, which the Council provides for your reference and convenience only. Any links to other Web sites provided on an Council Web Site do not imply on behalf of the Council any endorsement of the activities of or any association with any such Web sites or the respective operators thereof. The Council does not control and is not responsible for the content of or the privacy practices employed by any other Web sites or the respective operators thereof. To improve the services the Council can offer, the Council may opt to expand its capabilities for obtaining information about Council Web Sites' visitors in the future. The Council may revise or update this Privacy Statement to ensure that you are aware of developments in this area, and the Council recommends that you periodically check this Privacy Statement to view any such revisions or updates. Your continued use of any Council Web Site will be subject to the revised Privacy Statement (to the extent not otherwise subject to other agreements between you and the Council).
